Saturdays

(Pictures taken in summer)

Bens and I try to really utilize our Saturdays.
He usually starts out his day playing soccer with a group of buddies,
and I go on my long runs (today was a nice run to Daybreak, around the Daybreak lake, & back, about 10mi. )

Then we try to get some household projects done. Today we worked on putting shelves up, installing lights, and trying to get the computer room organized (a never ending project)....

Then we really try to do something fun with the kids. Tonight we decided to take them to Classic Skating. Sounds fun, right? We had to laugh:

Remy fell asleep in the car on the way there & woke up grouchy. Ended up riding her scooter around the rink once and got distracted by the arcade.

We left at 5:30pm & didn't eat dinner before we left so everyone was hungry.

Caprice felt a little uneasy on the rollerblades (even though we thought she did great), and was ready to go home after about 5 times around the rink.

Beckhem rode his scooter around the track & had fun, but then asked Bens to buy him cotton candy & prizes the whole time.

Saige & Katelyn (friend) rollerbladed the longest, but then decided that there were too many teenagers there, so they were ready to go home.

So I'm not sure if the $35 worth of fun we tried to have with the kids was worth it? Maybe next time we'll just stay home & have fun with them for free!

Should have had you come with us on Thursday when it was free! Probably less crowded that night and F-R-E-E! :)
